Course Overview

In Welsh Diving's Discover Scuba Diving Course you will learn:

  • Basic dive theory
  • Short multi choice exam
  • Confined water dive (Swimming pool)
  • Basic open water techniques
  • Open water dive experience!
  • PADI registration and certificate!

The Discover Scuba Diving course is more involved than a Try Dive. You will do a basic course in dive theory.

This lasts about an hour and includes a short multiple choice exam. You will learn about the topics that are covered in more detail during the full Open Water course.

After the theory you will have a confined water session (upto one hour). As well as experiencing swimming underwater, and the effect of buoyancy, you will also have the opportunity to see a demonstration of some of the skills that are taught in the full Open Water course. You will even have the opportunity to have a go at one or two of the skills.

The course concludes with an Open Water Dive experience to give you a feel for what the full PADI Open Water course will comprise

Your Discover Scuba Diving experience will be registered with PADI and you will receive a certificate from PADI.

Discover Scuba Diving Course FAQ's

The dive theory aspect of the course lasts about 1 hour and includes a short multiple choice exam. 

After the theory you will have a confined water session (in a swimming pool). that lasts up to one hour.

The course concludes with an open water dive experience to give you a feel of the PADI Open Water Course.

Your Discover Scuba Diving experience will be registered with PADI and you will receive a certificate from PADI.
